Backbone – Original Soundtrack

The original soundtrack to Backbone by Nikita Danshin and Arooj Aftab consists of 30 unique compositions written specifically for Backbone and Backbone: Prologue.

Perfectly combining elements of trip-hop and dark jazz, these melodies will allow you to recall the stories of the game’s characters and the atmosphere of dystopian Vancouver at any time.

The impetus for the creation of the game and its jazz soundtrack was a funny incident: one day, a raccoon climbed into Nikita Danshin’s backyard. The composer tried for a long time to drive it out with a stick and other improvised means, but in the end, the furry intruder was driven out only by loudly playing the trumpet.

When Nikita started posting samples of compositions on the Internet while working on the soundtrack for Backbone, the famous performer Aruzh Aftab, who is known for her experiments, approached him and offered to become the second composer and vocalist of the project.
