Have you ever seen a place where the race track is so important that a city is named after it? Well, Indianapolis is such a place, as it is located in a town called “Speedway”. This track is the second oldest race track in all of humanity, built in 1909, just two years after Brooklands (UK), the oldest one in existence. That should tell you a lot about the huge motorsport culture that this place in Indiana (USA) has in its heritage. Everything here is completely consumed by the passion for engines, speed, tires and everything related to racing cars. Indianapolis has long been known for its spectacular oval course, which features an extreme bank for high-speed racing. As a motorsport capital, the track has evolved and now also houses an FIA Class 1 track that hosts the Indianapolis 8 Hour for the Intercontinental GT Challenge by SRO and many other races in all disciplines. Carl G. Fisher would be proud of the legacy he created for the entire motorsports industry.

Watkins Glen International

Located near Seneca Lake in New York State (USA), Watkins Glen first opened in 1956 and was built to bring motor racing from the countryside and roads to a full-fledged track. Throughout its history, it has been home to major racing disciplines, and as a result, has become very popular as the “Mecca” of North American motorsports. The area’s racing activity was initially fueled by Cameron Argetsinger, whose family’s summer home was nearby. The family collaborated with local authorities and began organizing racing events, giving birth to the future track, which also served as the site of the United States Grand Prix for many years.
